Full scope dewatering – railway crossing

Design:

Dewatering of the excavation for the construction of an underground crossing along the route of the modernized railway line No. 7, on the Otwock – Pilawa for the customer – Budimex. For the above task, UPRENT provided the delivery of equipment for dewatering  of excavations along with the installation jobs and supervision.

Equipment:

4 pcs. diesel pumps

1 pc centrifugal pump BBA BA 150E

1 pc submersible pump CAPRARI KCM150LA, 400v

1 item – a water tank with a capacity of 23 m3

230 pcs – DN50 wellpoints

500 m – discharge line DN200

UPRENT solution:

For dewatering the excavation for the underground crossing, 4 diesel piston pumps with a capacity of approx. 90 m3 / h were used, each set at the bottom of the 12 m deep trench, which discharged water into an intermediate tank with a capacity of 23 m3, and then a centrifugal pump with a capacity of 475 m3 / h pumped from the excavation to a distance of approx. 500 m by a pipeline with a diameter of 200 mm. To ensure continuity and failure-free drainage, a submersible reserve pump with a capacity of 376 m3 / h was also used to drain water from the reservoir. Due to very large groundwater inflows, 230 wells of 50 mm diameter were used. The above solution was designed to enable dewatering and transfer of water from a depth of more than 15 m, which allowed the customer to complete construction works on time.
